" The prime reason I wanted to join this association is because of the positivity spread through our society, whether on the internet or real-life. Personally touched by the determination and teamwork people have put into this organization. Which inspires me to join, and put my strengths to support this organization."
" I have three main personality traits, Openness, Extraversion, and Agreeableness. Firstly, I was never a traditional person, and one of the things my family fully support is to try new things. A part of me is attempting, and I am attracted to the latest updates. Secondly, I would consider myself a magnanimous person. I don’t like to dispute small things, and I want to ‘live in the moment’ because it is better to take action than think about it. Thirdly, I respect others and their opinion. I try to stand in other people’s perspectives to see things, to understand their point. By standing in their point of view would make it easier for us to communicate. I am proud to have all these personality traits because many of my friends like me for my attitude and, most importantly, make me who I am. "

Business and economics have always been subjects at the dinner table that captivated me as a child. As I learned more about finance, the stock market, and negotiations, I can now join in the discussion with my sibling and parents. Without doubt, my future lies within these fields as I aspire to become a woman business leader. Though managing projectNINE, as a non-profit, is different from managing a business, this has improved my knowledge of business techniques such as marketing, publicity, and outreach, all while working towards a cause I am passionate about. Above all, I hope to promote a future of ethical business practices and spread the importance of corporate social responsibility.
My family is huge on traveling; I am fortunate enough to be able to visit different cities around the world and embrace the environment of a new culture. This helped developed my love for languages as I hope to become fluent in many languages, such as French, in the future. My passion for culture also provoked my interest in fashion and how traditional culture influences modern trends. In my mind, everything is connected; from the culture of country, to the trends within that country, to how business should be run there. My passions have found ways to build off of one another and fascinate me more every single day. Overall, I find culture and fashion to come together and embody traditional and modern elements in one beautiful expression.
Though I whole-heartedly support innovation and all the crazy, new developments we have made in recent years, I also value traditional aspects of my Chinese culture. For more than ten years of my life, I have been practicing and attempting to master the traditional Chinese instrument, guzheng. Growing up in Canada, this has been an aspect of my life that has kept me connected with my ethnic background. From practicing traditional pieces, to learning how to play pop songs, the guzheng has become my way of letting go of stress, and simply enjoying the music I create in the moment. I hope to use my music to encourage others to also learn traditional activities, so that culture is preserved and honoured, even as we advance into an innovative future.
