Lydia Yang is a Registered social worker and psychotherapist in Ontario, Canada. She is currently a Senior Child/Youth Mental Health Specialist at WCCYC (Wellness Counselling Centre For Youth Canada). Lydia has professional experience in various regions of clinical psychotherapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and more. Lydia specializes in helping youth and adults suffering from emotional and behavioural disorders; she also has frontline clinical experiences with parent-child relational difficulties, academic stress, school avoidance, etc. 

Lydia is passionate about the concept of prevention over treatment. She is also passionate about raising legal awareness and helping clients in federal and provincial jails manage anger and stress.  Lydia has done various workshops, public speaking events, and programs related to criminal law and emotion/stress management for different groups of individuals in and outside of the local community. 

As our external advisor, Lydia provides excellent support to projectNINE on both the professional and administrative sides. Thanks to her experiences and credibility within the mental health field, projectNINE is able to seek guidance and correction for our published blogs, podcast content, and general direction. Lydia is also responsible for verifying all community service hours done for the organization in a monthly organized structure.
